Seven Primary Schools in Devon will receive funding to increase their capacity for early years provision for children below school age.
The Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed each of the schools will receive up to £150,000 to create new early years places in their schools.
We supported the schools with their applications for the Schools-Based Nursery Grants.
The schools include:
The schools all meet the DfE’s grant criteria, demonstrating that there’s a clear need for more early years places in their local communities; and there are high levels of deprivation in their catchment areas.
🌟Evening dining invitation🌟
I would love to invite parents/carers into school to come and taste one of our school meals.
For the first one I am planning on doing a curry night, you will get the chance to taste some of our forest school produce, hear about some of the dinners that your children are enjoying and all the super veg that we are getting into the meals and get to enjoy a tasty meal and have a night off from cooking!
If there is enough interest the first one would be on Thursday 21st May at 5pm, bring your own drinks, bring your family along and try a delicious curry!
Please contact the office if you are interested.

We really enjoy the first Tuesday in the month as thats when we take it in turns to go to the Village Hall to join in with their craft sessions.
Some children from years three and four went to the village hall yesterday morning to do some crafts . They had an amazing time!
Wow - what amazing entries we had for our egg decorating competition! We were blown away by all your amazing efforts. A huge well done to everyone who took part and our winners! (It was a tough job choosing our winners, a great job done by our school council members, James and Will!) 👏 🐣

So pleased to show off and use our running track.
Every child in the School is excited to be able to go for a walk, jog or run even in the rain.
We have set up a gofund page to raise the money for a running track at school.
We are asking everyone to get involved by running, walking, rowing, swimming etc any distance to help us get to the Olympic Games in Paris - just under 500 miles! Go on our page donate to our running track and tell us how far you have travelled to add to our total and perhaps send a photo.
Please spread the word as far as you can so that we can get as many people involved as possible to help make our wonderful school even better for all our lovely children.

Our Playground Leaders 2023/2024
The aim of Playground Leaders is to introduce and develop leadership skills in Yr 5 and 6 children by training them up and getting them to organise activities for other children in the playground. SASP has provided training for lunchtime supervisors and LSA’s to help with the organisation of this. One of the aims of the scheme is that it will increase the amount of physical activity undertaken during playtime and reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour.
Congratulations to Shayla, Sofia, Harry and Charlie on acieving Gifted & Ta;ented in PE.
Great opportunity to try new sports out this year and work with coaches who will provide you with great skills.
