Evening Dinner Invitation.

๐ŸŒŸEvening dining invitation๐ŸŒŸ

I would love to invite parents/carers into school to come and taste one of our school meals.
For the first one I am planning on doing a curry night, you will get the chance to taste some of our forest school produce, hear about some of the dinners that your children are enjoying and all the super veg that we are getting into the meals and get to enjoy a tasty meal and have a night off from cooking!
If there is enough interest the first one would be on Thursday 21st May at 5pm, bring your own drinks, bring your family along and try a delicious curry!
Please contact the office if you are interested.

Exciting News

Devon County Council Press Release.
Seven Devon Primary Schools to increase their early years provision

Seven Primary Schools in Devon will receive funding to increase their capacity for early years provision for children below school age.

The Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed each of the schools will receive up to ยฃ150,000 to create new early years places in their schools.

Devon County Council supported the schools with their applications for the Schools-Based Nursery Grants.

The schools include:

Winkleigh Primary School
All Saints Marsh Church of England Academy, Newton Abbot
Monkleigh Primary School
Halwill Primary School
Highweek Primary School, Newton Abbot
South Brent Primary School
Stockland Church of England Primary Academy
The schools all meet the DfEโ€™s grant criteria, demonstrating that there's a clear need for more early years places in their local communities; and there are high levels of deprivation in their catchment areas.

Fundraising for our Running Track

We have set up a gofund page to raise the money for a running track at school.
We are asking everyone to get involved by running, walking, rowing, swimming etc any distance to help us get to the Olympic Games in Paris - just under 500 miles! Go on our page donate to our running track and tell us how far you have travelled to add to our total and perhaps send a photo.
Please spread the word as far as you can so that we can get as many people involved as possible to help make our wonderful school even better for all our lovely children.

Playground Leaders

Our Playground Leaders 2023/2024

The aim of Playground Leaders is to introduce and develop leadership skills in Yr 5 and 6 children by training them up and getting them to organise activities for other children in the playground. SASP has provided training for lunchtime supervisors and LSAโ€™s to help with the organisation of this. One of the aims of the scheme is that it will increase the amount of physical activity undertaken during playtime and reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour.

School Closed Thursday 2nd November 2023

Myself and the Chair of Governors have carried out a risk assessment and due to the position of the school ,on a hill, and that last time we had a storm we lost 2 roofs and the barn behind is also very dangerous with loose metal sheeting, we have made the difficult decision to close tomorrow. We have also received information from DCC recommending this.
I would rather let you know now, than wait until the morning, so that you have more time to make arrangements.
The children's and your safety is of paramount importance, so if the storm is as bad as predicted please keep safe.
Class teachers will be in touch with some home schooling that you may wish to carry out tomorrow.
Thank you
